We’ve heard a lot about the new Shelby GT500’s awesome power. We know it even out-powered itself – turns out it makes 662 hp instead of the proposed 650 – and we know it’s got a very advanced launch control system, among other sophisticated features. But we haven’t really seen it in action yet. Well, here’s a little something to get our engines revving!

Thanks to HighGear Media we get to see the new GT500 doing a couple of burnouts. In case you were wondering what 660 horsepower does to your rear wheels, it turns them all into smoke.

This is most of all intimidating for the Camaro ZL1. The 580-hp Chevrolet is considered as the only rival for the new GT500, but not only it has less power and speed, it seems the Mustang is packing more technology as well. Can’t wait for a head 2 head battle between these two.
