This is the scooter version of amazing Peugeot Onyx Concept revealed a few days ago. It will be on display besides the concept car at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, and just like the car it will never be produced. Onyx Scooter is a very interesting bit of kit though. It comes as either a bike or a three-wheeled scooter.

The design of the scooter matches that of the car in details and also the paint job. Also like the car, it’s powered by a hybrid system. But where the Onyx car has 600 horsepower coming from a race-bred engine and a couple of electric motors, the scooter features a 400cc engine and a tiny motor for a total output of 45 kW and 58 Nm and a top speed of 150 km/h.

This urban commuter can run for 30 km on pure electricity with no emissions at all. If you use both the engine and the motor it will be able to cover 500 km on one charge and tank, averaging 2 liters per 100 km.

That’s great, but Onyx car and bike are both a sort of elaborate design exercise. They will never see the light of day. At least not in this exact shape.
