Chris Harris has been at Ascari track recently for the McLaren 12C Spider press event. Sadly he didn’t have his professional camera crew with him, but being an incisive motoring journalist, he strapped a couple of Go-Pros on the car and recorded his first driving experience in this drop-top McLaren for our motoring fun.

The 12C Spider is so flipping good that even McLaren admits nobody’s going to buy the hardtop anymore. It is cooler, livelier, and overall more exciting than the coupe. And it’s got a nice folding hardtop for when you need it. Still, Chris says he’d go for the coupe every time, because convertibles are for sissies!
