Hyundai i30 Tourer Gets 5-Star Safety Rating

i30 Tourer at Hyundai i30 Tourer Gets 5 Star Safety Rating

EuroNCAP today confirmed that Hyundai i30 Tourer is a 5-star car in terms of safety, just like its five-door hatchback brother. The Tourer also scored 90% in both ‘child occupant’ and ‘adult occupant’ tests, crucial for a family car. The car’s head restraints also proved very good at preventing whiplash.

In the  ‘safety assist’ category the i30 Tourer scored a respectable 86% thanks to its electronic stability program, as well as a front and rear seatbelt reminder system. It also passed the  ‘pedestrian’ test, maintaining maximum points for the protection to pedestrian’s legs.

The i30 Tourer joins the long list of other 5-star Hyundais, including the original i30, i20, ix35, ix20, i40, Veloster and New Generation i30 five-door hatchback.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented, “The five-star rating shows our commitment to developing cars specifically for Europe and providing the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers.  Our strategy of making cars ‘in Europe, for Europe’ continues to prove successful, attracting new consumers to Hyundai’s design, quality, safety and value.”
