To give us a new benchmark, and also for bragging rights, Porsche sent the new 911 Carrera S round the Nurburgring with professional driver Timo Kluck at the wheel. He managed to set a blistering time of 7:37,9 minutes, which is quite impressive for a sports car with automatic this and that, and tons of luxury goods.

Part of the reason for the Carrera S amazing performance is the engine. Its 3.8 liter flat-six with PDK can accelerate from 0- 62 mph in 4.3 sec (Sport Plus 4.1 sec). Most of it though is due to the extremely sophisticated chassis. The 991 has an electric steering wheel, which some say is rubbish. But as you see in this video it gets the job done, and that is what matters.
