The new Porsche Cayman will be unveiled officially at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto show in a matter of hours now, but hey, early looks are always more fun. So check out this leaked picture of the new German sports car, showing it in full glory.

As expected, the 981 Cayman is pretty much identical to the Boxster 981. However, it seems to have a different front bumper and, by imagine, a revised rear bumper. It’s not that big of a change over the Boxster, but at least they tried.

It might not be a looker, but Porsche Cayman is a damn good driver’s car. You get the same chassis and powertrain as the Boxster, which as we know are brilliant, with a rigid hardtop body. It is a joy to drive. It never made sense to us though. If you are buying a sports car to have fun with, why not get a proper open-top one? What’s wrong with the Boxster?
