Some people mock Porsche for not changing the 911’s design, but when you see an old one next to a new model, it just makes sense. Here Car Magazine puts a 1965 Porsche 911 against a 2012 Porsche 991 to see how things have moved on over the past 50 years since the car’s inception.

The new 991 is obviously a much better car – for one thing it doesn’t constantly try to kill you – but you have to say today an old 911, especially a first-gen model, looks much sexier than a new one. There is something strangely cool about old 911s, despite the fact that they are closely related to the Beetle!
