Top Safety Pick Fusion at Top Safety Pick Award For 2013 Ford Fusion

So the new Ford Fusion is more than just a pretty face. If the previous models are ay indication, it is great to drive; it is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and it is also safe. Very safe, in fact. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the Fusion as a Top Safety Pick.

The car was tested based on the 2012 regulations, and scored ‘Good’ rating in all tests, including offset frontal impact, side impact, dynamic head restraint and roof strength testing.

The Fusion is blessed with a whole host of safety features, including some high-end systems such as front crash sensors, front outboard safety belt buckle switches, driver-seat track position and passenger seat weight sensor. More conventional safety features include a total of eight airbags, Blind Spot Information System, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Keeping Aid, Driver Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rearview Camera, Front/Rear Park Aids, Hill Start Assist, and Electronic Parking Brake.

“The new Fusion is another example of Ford’s commitment to the highest standards of safety and we are proud that IIHS has recognized these efforts,” said Steve Kenner, global director of the Automotive Safety Office.
