In a document published on their website to announce the latest official prices for the new models, Porsche has included the 918 Spyder hyper car. It is priced at $845,000 for the normal model, and $929,000 for the one fitted with Weissach Package.

Those are eye-watering prices, but hey, at least they are below the one million mark! The 918’s main rivals, Ferrari F150 and McLaren P1, will almost certainly start well over $1 mil.

For your 900 grand Porsche will give you a rather compact hyper car with the world’s most complicated powertrain. The main motor is a V8 that comes straight form the RS Spyder and the world of motorsport. It is accompanied by some hybrid module with electric motor and decoupler; electric motor with decoupler and gear unit on front axle; electrical system recuperation; four cooling circuits for motors, and other high-tech stuff.

The result of all that is a combined output of 770 horsepower, which is astonishing, but not as astonishing as the fuel consumption, which is said to be 3.0 liter per 100 km.

As for that expensive Weissach package, leaked info suggest it will include special paint jobs or foil wrap, as well as some weight saving measures. Think of it as the 918 Spyder RS.
