McLaren P1 Embarks on U.S. Tour

McLaren P1 in America 545x317 at McLaren P1 Embarks on U.S. Tour

McLaren’s new P1 hyper car was unveiled as a concept car last year at the Paris Motor Show. They obviously couldn’t wait for a major car show America to show this car to people on that corner of the world, so they sent it on a tour of America. The P1 visits important cities and gets shown off to potential customers.

McLaren P1 first visited New York where the British car maker held a private preview event in which the company’s principals revealed more details about it, such as the fact that the production version will look 97 percent identical to the concept.

Now the car’s in Chicago, Illinois, as it’s been spotted in a luxury car dealership in that city. It was probably there to attend another private unveiling event. McLaren, by the looks of things, is surveying the customers before signing off the P1 for production.

It must be all about the looks though, because the performance specs are yet to be finalized and revealed to the public. The only thing we know for sure is that it will produce over 800 horsepower to keep up with Ferrari F150 and Porsche 918.
