If there was an award for the loveliest car of the year, Suzuki Swift would have won every year! Owning this small Japanese hatchback is like owning a puppy dog, and everybody loves puppies. That is probably why its sales recently surpassed three million units worldwide.

The Swift was first launched in Japan, but its success was so enormous that today it is being produced in Hungary, China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia and more recently Thailand. The European models come from the Magyar plant in Hungary.

Japan accounts for 13 per cent of Swift sales, India 45 per cent, and Europe 23 percent. Swift is driven in 125 Countries and regions of the world and has won 67 awards in 26 Countries.

Suzuki Swift is available in three and five door body styles and offers very low cost of ownership, great Japanese reliability, and a unique peppy handling that makes it plenty fun to drive. This five-star NCAP car comes with 1.2, 1.3 and 1.6 liter engines, and its standard equipment list includes seven airbags, ESP, radio/CD player with USB port, remote central locking and immobiliser, electric front windows, electric and heated door mirrors and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
