Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe went to Miami to attend Lamborghini’s unique press event for the Aventador Roadster. There he got to drive the car on a circuit, and also on some beautiful roads in and around Miami. What he wanted to know is if Lamborghini has just chopped the roof off an Aventador to make this – like they did with the Murcielago – or if they have actually put some thought in it.

Turns out it’s a proper job. The car feels and goes as fast as the coupe. The open-top experience is just a sweet bonus you get with this car. It costs about 200 grand more, this little bonus, but if you can afford an Aventador in the first place, you probably don’t care.
