The spirit of Porsche 911 997 series lives on in the body of the new GT3 R track machine. The new and thoroughly updated GT3 R is ready for the 2013 Motorsport season with extensive modifications. And it comes with an absolutely massive rear wing.

It must be in desperate need for downforce to sport such a humongous spoiler. That is good news, as it means the car is generally faster than the previous version. Regardless of the wing though, it is a handsome bit of kit, mainly thanks to the extra width.

The new GT3 R has wider tracks front and rear, fatter fenders, and a longer wheelbase. Even the wheels are wider – 12-inch compared to 10-inch in the previous model.

Powering the new 911 GT3 R is a four-liter, six-cylinder flat engine with 368 kW (500 HP). It is mated to a six-speed sequential dog-type gearbox with pneumatic shift system and flappy paddles. So it is like the road-going GT3 RS 4.0 minus the manual gearbox and a lot of weight. Sounds like quite a recipe.

The 2013 kit is available for older models at the price of 45,500 Euros.
