Porsche just released the official details and pictures of the Turbo and Turbo S variants of the Porsche 911 (991). The 911 Turbo makes 520 horsepower and tops 315 km/h, while the 911 Turbo S packs 560 horses, equating to a top speed of 330 km/h. And these aren’t the most powerful versions of the car!

Nope, there is still the GT2 and the GT2 RS. But they are still a long way away, so let’s focus on the Turbo for now. The all-wheel-drive super GT is powered by a special version of the 3.8 liter flat-six engine, with turbochargers that allow an overboost function, increasing the torque 15 percent for a few seconds.

The car also weighs no more than 1570 kg, which means the power to weight ratio is insane, which means the acceleration is mind-boggling. You can challenge a McLaren 12C in drag race, and that is a purpose-built super car.

Size-wise, and since it’s a 991, the new Turbo is significantly larger than its predecessor. It is longer, much wider, and boasts a longer wheelbase too. Front and rear tracks are also wider, enhancing the car’s road holding and giving it a more powerful presence, while making room for 20-inch wheels shod with ultra-fat tires.

The new 911 Turbo also features active spoiler on front and rear, working in tandem with the latest Porsche dynamic chassis control, dynamic engine mounts, ceramic brakes, and a GT3-derived four-wheel-steering system to provide an unforgettable driving experience. Also like the GT3, the new Porsche 911 Turbo is only available with a souped-up PDK transmission. No manual for you!

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S will go on sale in September after their Frankfurt Show debut.
