In an effort to boost the appeal of its TL sedan, Acura launches a special edition of the car in the American market, filled to the brim with features and equipment. New body parts, elegant wheels, exclusive exterior colors, fully-loaded interior, and a powerful V6 engine, the Acura TL SE has them all.
The car comes with a set of 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels, a color-matched deck lid spoiler and trunk-mounted Special Edition badging, showing off its exclusivity. Available colors include Bellanova White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Graphite Luster Metallic and Silver Moon Metallic. The interior meanwhile is finished in Ebony leather with contrast stitching.
The TL special edition features the Keyless Access Remote system as standard. What sets this one apart from conventional keyless systems, is that you can program each of the keyfobs and save stuff like driver’s seating positioin, steering wheel, outside mirrors, climate control and audio system in its memory. When you approach the car with the keyfob in your pocket, the car recognizes it and automatically adjusts everything.
Power comes from a all-aluminum 3.5-liter V-6. This single overhead camshaft unit is a tad old, but Acura has given it a fresh breath of life with features like VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). And with an output of 280 horsepower and 254 lbs-ft of torque, it has still got plenty to live for. The engine is coupled with a SportShift 6-speed automatic transmission.
The standard kit on the the Acura TL Special Edition include 10-way adjustable power driver’s seat and an 8-way adjustable power front passenger’s seat, power moonroof, 276-watt audio system with eight speakers, and dual-zone, dual-mode automatic climate control system with automatic humidity control, Bluetooth, USB port connectivity, and a high-resolution Multi-Information Display.
In terms of safety you get Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, ABS, dual-stage/multiple-threshold front airbags, front-side airbags, side curtain airbags for all outboard seating positions, front seatbelts with automatic tensioning system and load limiters, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Daytime Running Lights (DRL).
