In his latest video Chris Harris takes us to the track for his date with the McLaren 12C GT3. Now, this is not a normal review that ends with useful consumer advice. This is for the more hard-core viewers who are interested in the differences between a road-going super car and its racing GT3 version.

The new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 is the first McLaren car built for FIA GT series racing since the McLaren F1 GTR finished production in1997. The 12C GT3 is based on the MP4-12C high-performance sports car and a team of engineers, designers and test drivers with vast experience in Formula 1 and GT racing has been assembled to undertake the process of adapting the carbon chassis-based 12C to racing specification. The result is a fantastic race car that can easily keep up with Ferrari and Porsches and Aston Martin in the GT series, and they’ve all been doing this for years.

Come to think of it, GT3 is such a brilliant racing series. It’s a bumper to bumper race between exotic super cars.
