With all the attention Jaguar is these days lavishing on the F-Type family, and with the shadow of their new SUV looming large on the horizon, you would think that they’ve forgotten about the rest of the range, namely the poor old XK. But now to cheer up the old girl they’ve come up with a pair of special editions models for it.
They are Jaguar XK Signature and Dynamic R editions – or rather trim levels – each bringing something to the table. The Signature edition is more about the aesthetics, while the Dynamic R, as the name suggests, is more focused on performance and driving. Both new derivatives will be available in Coupe and Convertible form.
Among the special features fitted to the Jaguar XK Signature we can mention the standard 20” Kalimnos wheels, Ivory or Charcoal soft grain leather, Ebony veneers and Bright Metal sport pedals and Reverse Park Camera. The Dynamic R meanwhile, gets Black Dynamic Pack, which incorporates XKR-S suspension and dynamics and a 10mm reduction in ride height, plus Speed Pack, which equips the car with an Aerodynamic Pack and an increased top speed of 174mph.
The Signature model is powered by the 385 PS 5.0 liter V8 engine, delivering a 0 to 60 time of 5.2 seconds in Coupe guise, and 5.3 seconds for the Convertible. The Dynamic R gets the supercharged version with 510PS and 625Nm, and is capable of reaching 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 174mph. The Dynamic R also features Jaguar’s Active Differential Control technology and a performance exhaust system.
Both the XK Signature and Dynamic R editions are available with a choice of exterior body colours – Polaris White, Ultimate Black, Stratus Grey, Italian Racing Red, Dark Sapphire and British Racing Green. Both are also fully-loaded in terms of equipment. Pricing for the Jaguar XK Signature and Dynamic R is yet to be announced.
