A unique 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible will soon go under the hammer at Mecum Auction event in Seattle. One of only two convertible Cudas ever made with 4-speed transmission, the car is expected to fetch $4 million, which is an all-time record for a muscle car.

Back in 2002 the same car became the first muscle car to sell for over one million dollars. It turned out to be a solid investment for its owner then, although a comparable European model would have done even better in that time.

This 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible is a fully restored example and retains mostly all of its original sheet metal. The color and the interior trimming are also restored to the original settings. Among its most notable features we can mention painted steel wheels, dog dish hub caps and white-letter tires, Shaker hood, hold-down pins and chromed dual exhaust tips, Rallye Instrument Cluster, and Hurst Pistol Grip shifter.

Even though the original is always better, you don’t have to pay $4 million to have one of these. High-end car customizers like West Coast Customs can build a replica for you with modern underpinnings for a fraction of the cost.
