Only in South of France you may have the chance to see a car valued at over $40 million USD on the road. The car in question here is a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa from the 1950s, spotted hanging out at Zelo’s beach, which is a luxury private beach in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

Even by the high standards of French Riviera lifestyle this is insane. The owner of this unique piece of automotive history, whose net worth must be more than some countries’ GDP, obviously likes to drive and enjoy his Testa Rossa instead of locking it up in a secure garage. That’s very cool.

Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa has been increasing in value over the past few years at a mind-bending pace. Back in 2009 an original Testa Rossa cost around $12 million. In 2012 it hit $30 million, and earlier this year a 1957 model smashed all records selling for $39.8 million USD! We won’t be at all surprised if next year this car goes past the 50 million mark.

That is some serious dosh for a car that doesn’t have a roof, or proper doors, or any feature worth mentioning, except for a racing V12 engine. What this car has in spades, and the main reason it costs what it does, is pedigree and heritage.
