It is almost certain that BMW is developing an M2 with more power and a more sophisticated chassis than the M235i, and that’s great. But recently they unveiled the M235i Track Edition with a staggering price tag of 83K Euros. So an M2 could cost nearly a 100K, which is an awful lot for what’s in essence a 2 Series.

What’s more, the M2 does not make much sense anyway. Sure, the extra power means the car is more fun to play with, but the fact is, the standard M235i is so good, you have to be a hard-core track enthusiast to want more from a car of this class. The best compromise, then, is something in the middle. And such a thing exists in form of BMW M235i M Performance.

The main ingredients of the BMW M235i M Performance include the M body kit with carbon fiber front and rear spoiler, diffuser and sills, M sport exhaust system with carbon tips, 19-inch forged BMW M Performance light alloy wheels.  Going deeper in the options list we find M Performance limited slip differential, suspension, and brakes, as well as some interior upgrades including M Performance sports steering wheel in Alcantara/carbon, carbon trims and sport pedals.
