It was at the Nurburgring Nordschleife where we first saw the hotted-up SVR version of Range Rover Sport, strutting its stuff up and down the German track. All that effort has now come to fruition, earning Range Rover Sport SVR the title of fastest production SUV at the ‘Ring.

8 minutes 14 seconds is the official Nurburgring lap time for the Range Rover Sport SVR; a time that is on the par with some of the very best sports cars:

The reason for this incredible performance is a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine made by Jaguar, developing 550 PS. We got to hear this engine at the Goodwood FoS last month, and we can tell you it sounds as good as it goes. Range Rover Sport SVR also benefits from stiffer chassis and suspension and revised electronics, as well as bigger wheels and tires.
