The guys from Evo Magazine are quite fond of odd rivalries between cars that have pretty much nothing in common except maybe their basic philosophy. That’s why the Audi R8 Plus vs Renault Clio Cup track battle makes sense, as both cars are capable of achieving extraordinary speeds. But which is quicker around the track?

To answer that rather irrelevant question, given these cars intended role as an everyday super car and a hard-core track car with its own one-make racing series, Evo went to Blyton Park compare lap times:

Just to give you some specs, the Audi R8 Plus has a 540 horsepower V10 engine that is sweet as a nut. This particular example has a manual gearbox which makes it more fun working through those rpms while enjoying the soundtrack. The Renault Clio Cup has a 220 something horsepower four-banger, but it’s light, harsh, and focused. You wouldn’t get your groceries in it, though.
