Along with the new Dodge Viper, Chrysler also revealed the 2015 version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and its high-performance SRT variant. As with the Viper, the Cherokee SRT also gets a bump in power. But it is so slight it almost feels like Chrysler is mocking their customers!

Powered by the same 6.4 liter HEMI V8 as before, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT comes with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. That is a full 5 horsepower and 5 pound-feet more than the previous version. So if you ever have a big lunch, you can be sure the extra weight you bring with you in the car is not going to affect its performance. We can’t think of any other scenario where an extra 5-hp might actually make a difference.

As for the changes that make a bit of sense, 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT can be ordered as a new special edition called Red Vapor. Apart from the cool name, this special models comes with five-spoke 20-inch “Goliath” wheels in Black Chrome, and gloss black SRT liftgate badge, Jeep hood and rear light bar badges, Grand Cherokee door badge, lower grille bezels and upper grille inserts. Inside it gives you a sport steering wheel and Radar Red accents.
