The all-new Mercedes AMG GT has passed its final tests at Bonneville Salt Flats and is now ready for its debut later this month. The car had a long and fairly amusing teasing campaign though, and before it comes to an end AMG released one last quaint teaser to let us know they’ve put their hearts and soul into this car.

The video shows, in a somewhat whimsical way, how the engineer came up with the perfect exhaust noise for the Mercedes AMG GT. They’ve apparently listened to everything from the noise of a screaming goat to the roar of a landing jet. In the end, they settle on angry snarling lion as the most appropriate sound for the GT.

Technical details of Mercedes AMG GT have been known for quite a while now. It comes with a 510 horsepower 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8 (an entry-level 460-hp version will also be available) which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 310 km/h. What we are eager to learn about the AMG GT is how it looks. The company’s officials say it is the best-looking car they’ve ever made. We shall find out in about a week.
