Turns out Subaru’s low-price policy is not limited to the UK. They have just revealed the pricing for the 2015 Impreza in the American market, and the sports sedan starts from just $18,195. Available in 4- and 5-door versions, the base Subaru Impreza comes with a 148-hp 2.0-liter Subaru BOXER engine and features standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

Then there is the list of Subaru Impreza standard equipment which is pretty good for an 18 grand car: tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, power windows, 60/40-split fold-down rear seat backs, outside temperature gauge, a multi-function display with fuel economy information, steering wheel audio and Bluetooth control switches, remote keyless entry, security system with engine immobilizer and Rear Vision Camera.

For stuff like leather-wrapped steering wheels, CVT transmission, bigger wheels, aero kits and LCD screens you have to go for the Premium and Premium Sport models. But even those are very well-priced. A fully-loaded model with all the bells and whistles won’t cost more than $24,090.

Subaru evidently hopes to make more money through value-added packages, as there are loads of them available. There is one with Moonroof + Navigation System + EyeSight+Keyless Access & Start costing $2,795, and another one offering Alloy Wheel Package + Moonroof for $1,500.
