Today is the day of strange renderings. We just looked at what the next-fen Audi R8 GT3 racer may look like, and now we have this, a virtual Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake called by its designer the Cayvan, which would be more suitable for a van version of the Cayman.

This Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake pushes the limits of imagination by turning the sports car into a more practical shooting brake with a large hatch at the rear and ample cargo space. On paper this idea sounds  reasonable enough. But the chances of it actually happening are below zero.

Porsche Cayman is a pure sports car and a coupe version of the Porsche Boxster. While Porsche tends to make a thousands different editions of a specific model, it is really not their style to milk a successful nameplate by making different variants of it. Granted, that is exactly what they did with the Cayman/Boxster situation, but a sports coupe is one thing, a shooting brake quite another.

If someday Porsche decides to make a shooting brake car the Panamera would be a better candidate. They can turn the already huge sedan into a proper wagon. It’ll probably look a lot better than the normal model too.
