Blacked Out Porsche 959 600x371 at Fully Blacked Out Porsche 959 Hits the Auction Block

Nope, it’s not a silly custom job. This Porsche 959 is probably the only original example in the world with a fully blacked-out exterior. And it can be yours now as the owner has just listed for sale at Gooding & Company Pebble Beach auction in August.

Boasting a deep metallic black body, black wheels, and tinted windows, this one-of-a-kind Porsche 959 reflects the dark side of the German super car which is actually known for its mellow approach to performance motoring, what with its turbo engine, four-wheel-drive and a full host of electronic safety systems. The 959 was in fact the first super car in the world to have all of these things.

The black Porsche 959 you see here is in tiptop condition as it’s been subjected to regular factory maintenance programs since 1988 when it first came out of there and was shipped to America. It has a six-speed manual gearbox and a 450 horsepower flat-six turbo engine that gives it a top speed of 197 mph. The auctioneers expect this 959 to fetch up to $1.8 million USD.
