Optimizing performance “without sacrificing reliability” is how Ford is pitching the new mountune upgrade kit they have developed for the latest Ford Focus ST. Sold through Ford Performance Parts, the package adds 23 horsepower and 26 lb.-ft. of torque without violating the car’s three-year warranty.

The 2015 Ford Focus ST MP275 upgrade package will increases the output of the car’s 2.0 liter turbo engine, already one of the most potent in its class from 252 horsepower to 275 horsepower with nearly 300 lb.-ft. of torque. The keyword here is reliability. Unlike most aftermarket kits, this package, says Ford, has no negative effect on the life of the engine.

The ingredients of Ford Focus ST upgrade package include a remapped ECU, mountune induction kit, mountune high-flow intercooler, and mountune mTune handset. You can also add a mountune air filter end cap to muffle the sound a bit. Emissions-wise, the upgrade ST is still legal in 50 states. No word on pricing yet.
