It has become a tradition for Lamborghini to unveil at least one crazy concept each year. These concept serve a couple of purposes. For one thing, as Lambo’s production models get more and more sensible, they keep the spirit of the brand alive. What’s more, they have immense “wallpaper value” for the fans. This year’s offering is, reportedly, called Lamborghini HyperVeloce and it will debut at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Details are scarce at the moment, but with a name like that you can be sure the car is not going to fail to drop your jaw. Based on the Avendaor, and on the line with previous hyper-Lambos such as the Reventon and Veneno, Lamborghini HyperVeloce will most likely boast a batmobile-like design and 800 horsepower. So yes, just like the aforementioned models, the HyperVeloce does not make much sense production-wise, but it will awesome to look at and material for your daydreams.

That said, it is Lamborghini’s habit to make a handful of their popular concept cars and sell them to rich fanboys at obscene prices. Rumor has it Lamborghini HyperVeloce will be produced in both coupe and roadster body styles. As for the pricing, well, you know how much the more silly, less interesting Veneno cost (that’s $4 million), so it’s anybody’s guess. This is good business for Lambo, spending, by the looks of things, 40 bucks designing these cars and selling them at those prices.
