So while a blue example of the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder is making the crowd gasp with amazement at the Frankfurt Motor Show, a red one with camouflage was spotted out and about in Italy. Lamborghini is apparently putting the finishing touches on the new open-top Huracan before unleashing it on the market.

Sadly we don’t get to see the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder in action with the top down, but you may rest assured it looks pretty hot. The roof can be opened and closed on the move at speeds up to 50 km/h, and it takes 17 seconds to complete its operation.

Mechanically, the Spyder is identical to the hardtop Huracan. The naturally aspirated 5.2l V10 engine produces 449 kW / 610 hp, which means the new Huracan LP610-4 Spyder accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph). The Spyder also includes new technical features of the 2016 model year Huracan family, including ‘cylinder on demand’ in combination with ‘stop start’, and a new electronically controlled all-wheel drive. But since you are more exposed to the elements in the Spyder, the feel of driving this model should be a lot more enticing than the hardtop.
