Land Rover has come up with an ingenious way to create some proper hype for the debut of the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible. In preparation for November launch, they placed a series of Evoque Convertible ‘wireframe’ sculptures in the iconic streets of London.

The 1:1 scale models created using advanced computer modelling represent the exact shape of upcoming Range Rover Evoque Convertible and even include 3D wheels as well as front and rear seats. The elaborate teaser saw six of these things displayed outside prestigious London locations including the world famous Harrods department store. The wireframe Evoques will now go a global tour.

In the works since 2011, Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be the world’s first compact luxury SUV Convertible when it launches next month. The unique proposition has already created a lot of interest in the fans, but it remains to be seen if it will really work in the real world.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, said: “The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is perfectly suited to the urban surroundings of a city like London and it’s the perfect place to showcase the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible. The locations chosen reflect the refined and luxurious lifestyle of an Evoque Convertible customer – two attributes this vehicle delivers in abundance.”
