Aston Martin Vantage GT8 in the Works

Aston Martin Vantage GT8 teaser 600x326 at Aston Martin Vantage GT8 in the Works

There is a new version of Aston Martin Vantage coming very soon, called the GT8, tipped to be a proper hard-core street racer in the same league as the likes of Porsche GT3 RS and Ferrari Speciale. As the teaser picture suggests, the car is going to be bewinged and rather vicious-looking.

Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is in the pipeline at the moment, but apparently the work has been done, as Autocar says it is going to be revealed to a group of select customers this week before going official. The GT8 is going to be limited in numbers (only 150 copies – 40 for the UK) and pretty expensive as well (around £170K).

As for technical details, Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is, in essence, a V8-powered version of the GT12 boasting a good amount of carbon fiber, aluminum and even titanium in its construction for the sale of lightness, and a revised and improved version of the firm’s V8 engine with more power, paired with wither a seven-speed manual gearbox offered or a SSII automatic transmission.

Aston Martin Vantage has been around for a long while now and in that time the car maker has milked it for all it’s worth, and then some. There have been countless variants of the Vantage, but the GT8 could well be the swan song as Aston is working on an all-new model to replace it with.
