This year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este weekend is upon us, and that means a ton of unique concept cars are being released at the same time. One of the first to rear its pretty head is also, quite possibly, the most important: meet the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato concept.

Aston and Zagato’s re-up has been a very fruitful partnership for both parties with no less than five models produced so far. Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato is the latest model by the British auto maker to get a full Zagato treatment, and although they call it a concept you may rest assured there will be a production version some time in the future in very limited numbers and with a preposterously massive price tag.

The car is a lightly tweaked Vanquish under the skin with 600 horsepower, but in terms of design it features a fair few elements that make it an unmistakably Zagato car. The biggest highlight perhaps is the signature ‘double bubble’ roof. But Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato also borrows a number of cues from the car maker’s own rich portfolio.

At the back you see a pair of new taillights nestled into a sculptural rear end like you get on the new DB11. There is also a retractable spoiler and quad exhaust which, in addition to the side mirrors, remind us of the One-77. Meanwhile, the unique side strake, the sills and the rear hips are clearly inspired by the CC-100. This Vanquish also benefits from a revised interior featuring Herringbone carbon fiber anodized bronze and aniline leather as well as ‘Z’ quilt pattern stitch.
