Turns out there are people out there insane enough to have their 650 horsepower super cars tuned. One of them is the guy who ordered this handsome Hennessey Corvette Z06, equipped with the tuner’s HPE1000 power package. Just before it leaves the showroom, Hennessey boys decided to snap a few shots of it for posterity.

As the name Hennessey Corvette Z06 HPE1000 clearly suggests, this ‘Vette is now producing a massive 1,000 horsepower, achieved through some serious and very deep modifications. There is no denying that having a car with one thousand horsepower is a very cool thing indeed, but so far as the real world performance of the car is concerned, is the difference between the 650-hp version and the 1000-hp version great enough to justify going to this length for it?
