LaFerrari Aperta Spotted in the Flesh

LaFerrari Aperta Spot 1 600x333 at LaFerrari Aperta Spotted in the Flesh

A few days after Ferrari released the first official photos of the long-awaited LaFerrari Aperta, the open-top hyper car was caught out and about outside factory. This is one of the customer cars sent out with a test driver for a spot of real world testing before delivery.

The multi-million dollar hyper is seen here in red with some heavy camo around the nose and the sides which led us to believe it might have boast some special striping or something. Other than such bespoke touches, Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta looks largely similar to the hardtop version, apart from, obviously, the lack of roof.

The roof arrangement on the new LaFerrari Aperta includes a carbon fiber hard top and a soft top. Because of it, because customers want a little bit of wind in their hair, a whole lot of structural work has been done on the car to make sure it has the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupe version. The car’s aerodynamics have also been revised to guarantee the same drag coefficient even without the roof.

It’s been a ton of work, but the end result is the world’s only drop-top 963 horsepower hybrid car. The Aperta will make its official debut at the 2016 Paris International Motor Show as a pre-sold limited edition.
