Sold-Out Lamborghini Centenario Roadster Revealed

As expected, Lamborghini took to Quail, A Motorsports Gathering to unveil the highly anticipated Lamborghini Centenario Roadster. The anticipation was high, but the whole occasion was a bit anti-climactic seeing as the car is already sold out, and also because everybody already knew what the thing looked like.

The fact that Lamborghini Centenario Roadster is a regular Centenario with a whole in the roof aside, we have had a number of really good renderings giving us a good look at the aesthetics of the car long before its debut. But that doesn’t mean the open-top Centi wasn’t exciting to look at. We just hope those 20 people who have already paid 2 million euros plus tax for it weren’t disappointed when they saw in the flesh under the sunlight.

Not that it matters, of course, because almost all of those guys have bought the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster not as a car to be used and enjoyed, but as an investment to make a million or two profit when they sell it on. But should they decide they want to drive the car for a while and see what it’s like, they’re going to find it is exactly like an Aventador SV because that’s what it’s like underneath with a 770 horsepower, rear-wheel steering, carbon fiber monocoque and body, advanced aerodynamics, and a new connected infotainment with internet, web radio, telemetry and Apple CarPlay.

“Lamborghini prides itself on the relentless pursuit of experimentation. We are proud to unleash Centenario’s further potential in the form of a classic roadster; the perfect harmony between innovation and timeless design. This unique engineering achievement is a befitting tribute to Lamborghini’s extraordinary past and a preview of its brilliant future. Centenario Roadster embraces the cutting edge characteristics of its coupé sibling and embraces the freedom of a true open-top super sports car for a pure drive experience” Stefano Domenicali, Automobili Lamborghini Chief Executive Officer, said.
