Lexus has released an official rendering of their upcoming new model which is a premium compact concept, a first by the Japanese car maker in the C-segment. Set for debut at the Frankfurt Motorshow in September, this Lexus hatchback is clearly gunning for cars like BMW 1-series and Mercedes B-class, and can set new standards in this busy market with its innovative hybrid powerplant.
Although Lexus says that it will demonstrate a mix of technical innovation and ground-breaking design, but designwise it will probably remain very conservative, as all Lexus models are. However, as it’s usually the case Japanese technology and innovation can make life harder for those stylish European rivals.
The full list of the concept specifications will be announced at the Lexus press conference at the IAA, which is scheduled for 15:45 on 15 September at Stand C11 in Hall 8.
