It took BMW a year to come up with a rival for the Mercedes S400 Hybrid, but they finally did, and it’s quite good! The 7-series ActiveHybrid luxury saloon features the new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and working along a hybrid electric motor. The car has been unveiled in America during L.S Autoshow and will hit the showroom floors in Spring 2011, starting from $103,125 fro the normal wheelbase and $107,025 for the long wheelbase model.
Standard equipments of the ActiveHybrid 7 include 19-inch wheels and tires, Alcantara headliner, leather dashboard and ventilated active front seats. The Premium Sound System, Head-up Display and Rear View Camera are also standard on the ActiveHybrid 7 as are Comfort Access, Soft-close doors and Automatic trunkgate closing.
