This is the all-new 2010 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet which will debut in less than a month at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show and will be available to order shortly afterward. Just like the E-Class Coupe which replaced the old CLK, this convertible is the replacement of CLK Cabrio, so it comes with four seats and a neat fabric roof. The car is in the same size as the Coupe and they are also alike in terms of interior and powertrain.
The new E-Class Cabrio looks a bit less sporty than the old CLK but instead it is more noble and luxurious, and that’s good! After all it’s a four-seater with a soft top which goes up and down in 20 seconds. If you want sport then you should by the SLK or the SL which come with a metal folding roof which at 16 seconds also convert faster! In this car though, you can open or close the roof while you are moving up to 40km/h.
Using a soft top has another advantage for the E-Cabrio and that’s good luggage space even when the roof is down. You will have no problems at all fitting your Golf clubs in the trunk!
The choice of powertrain for the car should be the same as the Coupe, which means there will be four, six and eight cylinder engine but no AMG model. However the word is that Mercedes is working on Black version of the E-Coupe, in that case it is likely that the Cabrio gets he package as well. The old CLK Cabrio used to have a tarted up DTM variant. We should until Mercedes reveals more details on it, for now feast your eyes on the 2010 Mercedes E-Class Convertible pictures. It looks good, doesn’t it?!
