SRRT Impreza STI WRX at SRRT Subaru Impreza Debuts At Daytona Raceway

Subaru Road Racing Team (SRRT) from Subaru of America has prepared two Impreza WRX STI race cars for 2010 Grand Sport class of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and the best they could manage in the opening round at Daytona Raceway was a 15th place out of 41 entries. The cars are driven by four-time Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Touring 1 Northeast Champion Andrew Aquilante, and Bret Spaude.

SRRT’s 2010 Impreza WRX STI is powered by a 305-horsepower turbocharged/intercooled Boxer engine and features driver-selectable powertrain. Its drivetrain, which is exclusive to the WRX STI model, combines a six-speed manual transmission with the advanced Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) version of Subaru Symmetrical All Wheel Drive. High-performance chassis elements include aluminum suspension components and a Brembo Performance Brake System.

Nice try, but Impreza should stick to rallying as it performs better on gravel than on tarmac!
