Hyundai very soon will launch the hybrid version of the 2011 Sonata. The hybrid powertrain Hyundai has developed for this car consists of a 2.4-liter Theta II gasoline engine with 169 hp and 156 lb-ft. of torque with a 30 kw electric motor attached to it. So you get 209 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque at the disposal of your right foot. And as for fuel economy, the Sonata Hybrid manages an astonishing 37 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.
