Even though most people believed that the next Lamborghini supercar which is set for debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show this month, on the evidence of the recent teaser pics, is a replacement for the late Murcielago, news emerged that it is actually a new version of the Gallardo. And it’s not called Jota, Lamborghini Gallardo “Evoluzione” is the name of it. Same source suggests that the Murcielago replacement will be revealed at the next Geneva Motor Show.

This actually makes sense, becasue the latest teaser image Lamborghini released clearly refers to a V10 powertrain.

The Gallardo Evoluzione follows the same recipe that created the the Countach Evoluzione back in 1987. So it’ll be even lighter than the new SuperLeggera version. It may come with a full carbon fiber body for extreme lightness. Lamborghini boss has already confirmed the new direction toward less weight.

It’s not officially confirmed yet, but Lamborghini is expected to comment on the case soon.
