The official pricing of the Opel Ampera has been revealed as the order books open for the European version of Chevy Volt. This four seater electric car which can drives 40 – 80 km just on electricity before the range extender engine kicks in giving it a total range around 500 Km, starts at 36,050 euros, which is if you include the 19 percent VAT in Germany will increase to 42,900 euros.
Of course that’s the manufacturer’s suggested retail price and it will certainly cost you more on the showroom floor, but hey if you care for the environment you have to be ready to make sacrifices! Also becasue every European country gets a different trim, pricing will differ from place to place, but you can consider 40,000 euros as the minimum you have to pay for it.
Sales start in the fourth quarter of 2011, but you can now go www.opel-ampera.com to reserve a car and become an ‘ePioneer’, receiving exclusive news and a chance to test drive the electric car.
