It’s the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Well, according to Classic & Sports Car magazine, and they’re not making it up! They’ve actually asked all of the experts they could get their hands on, including more than 100 leading lights in the classic car world, from Sir Stirling Moss to Lord March. And the 300 grand Porsche was named the greatest ever driver’s car.
They actually made a list of 25 cars that are best at giving you thrills and the most special memories! And while the second place goes to the multi million Pound McLaren F1, there’s also a Mini Cooper S in the top five, so the best driver’s car does not have to be a supersport.
It’s a good job that they interviewed the people who actually know something about good cars, becasue let’s be honest ordinary people tend to be rational when it comes to choosing the best in a field and everybody thinks they know best.
Classic & Sports Car Editor Alastair Clements said: “For me the most exciting thing about our Top 5 was not the presence of some of the most exclusive and expensive cars ever made, but the inclusion of two that just about any enthusiast can go out and buy today.”
