Swiss artist Dante Rubli has created a 24-karat gold sculpture of Ferrari 250 GTO, to be unveiled at 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Dante has also made sculptures of Aston-Martin DB5, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL before, but this Ferrari is something else because it’s a tribute to one of the greatest cars of all time. This sculpture will be shown alongside the real Ferrari 250 GTO at Pebble beach Concours.

The gold sculpture is bloody expensive for sure, but nowhere near as expensive as the car by which it’s inspired. Chris Evans, the ginger guy in the pictures below, a few years ago paid $12 million for a 250 GTO. That’s how special this car is!

“The iconic car sculptures are my tribute to the men who made the original cars: they were artists,” said Dante. As a Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance sponsor, a Design by Dante tent will be in position Thursday, August 18 through Sunday, August 21 on Peter Haye Hill adjacent to the Concours site in RetroAuto Plaza, amidst fellow Concours sponsors such as The Wall Street Journal, Porsche and Infinity to name a few.
