These renderings, obtained by British magazine Autocar from Porsche Design HQ, show the initial sketches of the Porsche Cajun.

Whether or not the finished product look anything like this is not important right now. What these pictures prove is that Porsche Cajun is clearly gunning for the Range Rover Evoque. Porsche is applying the same successful recipe Range Rover used for Evoque. The one that proved to be so popular it secured 18,000 orders long before they even start making it.

The Cajun will be developed as a five-door crossover based on the Audi A5, but there will also be a three-door version. On the contrary to the first speculations that suggested it would be a baby Cayenne, the Cajun has almost nothing to do with the big SUV. The sporty three-door Cajun’s design will be inspired by Porsche’s sportcars, namely the 911. Think of it as a jacked-up 911, on steroids!

The Cajun is due in two years. For now check out Autocar‘s report for more details on this German Evoque rival.
