Land Rover released the first pictures of the DC100 concept car, which previews the 2015 Defender.

To be unveiled at 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, DC100 tries to maintain Defender’s legendary design which has been around for ages, while introducing a bit of modernity to it.It is still simple and fairly box-shaped, but at the same there is cool new details that don’t let it get boring.

The priorities for LR head of design Gerry McGovern in making the new Defender was for it to reflect on capability and versatility of the vehicle. Job done we think.

Commenting on the Land Rover DC100 concept car,Gerry McGovern, Director of Design, Land Rovers aid:”Replacing the iconic Defender is one of the biggest challenges in the automotive design world; it is a car that inspires people worldwide.  This isn’t a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century.”

This is just a preview of the real car, which as mentioned in due in 2015. So don’t ask about its technical features because there isn’t any, yet! Land Rover has never disappointed with its makeovers. The new Defender should be alright as well.
