At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann confirmed production of 20 Sesto Elemento models, and promised more one-offs and special editions.
Presented a year ago at the Paris Motor Show, the Sesto Elemento is a hyper car based on the Gallardo, featuring an all-carbon body and structure, which means the whole cars weighs no more than 999 kg.
That in combination with a 570-hp V10 engine makes this car really fast, with 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. And that is why all the 20 units of Sesto which go on sale in 2013 for a staggering price of £2 million, are destined for track use only.
Winkelmann says due to the excellent feedback and the numerous requests which convinced them to build the Sesto, the company will continue dramatic hyper cars in future in very limited numbers, or as one-offs.
“The key is that every car we build meets the emotional standards of our company, and that it is profitable. We build the cars of dreams for car lovers, and that must stay core to the brand.” Said Winkelmann.
