The new ultra-hot Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring package is priced at £22,295 in the UK.
The Nurburgring model is powered by the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine as in the VXR, but instead of 190 it makes 205 hp and also produces 280 Nm of torque, thanks to modified engine management and turbocharger system, sports exhaust with reduced back pressure.
As a result the performance is pretty sprightly with 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. To cope with the speed this special model is lowered by 20mm at the front and 15mm at the rear. suspension components are made by Bilstein which is the best name in the business.
This little beast also gets Brembo brakes, while the VXR’s ABS, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control systems have all been recalibrated to take into account the Nürburging’s new set-up. It’s the real deal this thing.
Visually, the car gets a number of bespoke touches, including a stainless steel dual exhaust, newly designed forged aluminium wheels in high-gloss grey, and ‘Nürburgring’ logos on the B-Pillars and front spoiler lip. There are also two new colours available – apple green ‘Grasshopper’ and red ‘Henna’.
Inside, black and red ‘Nürburgring’ lettering adorns the sill plates and front Recaro seat backs, with bespoke white stitching on all seats, as well as the handbrake and gearshift console.
