599XX at Ferrari 599XX Evolution Announced

At the 36th edition of the Bologna Motor Show Ferrari will be unveiling a new version of its 599XX race car.

The Ferrari 599XX Evolution is fitted with performance-enhancing technical features to make the Corse Clienti participants even happier. This is a car that you buy for a massive six-figure sum and then Ferrari keeps it at the factory and let you drive it once every few months! They organize racing events for the customers and take care of all the sideshows. It is fantastic.

The new XX features improved chassis dynamics thanks to an active aerodynamic package integrated with the vehicles’ electronic control systems, and the adoption of new Pirelli tyres. The car is also more powerful than before (750 CV) and weighs 35 kg less. You can clearly tell it apart from the old one thanks to the new carbon fiber rear wing, which is ‘Active’.

The 599XX active rear wing is actuated automatically according to specific parameters which are integrated with the car’s other control functions (ESP, ABS, SCM and F1-Trac). It gets opening order from sensors that monitor steering wheel angle, longitudinal acceleration, lateral acceleration, and vehicle speed.

The added 20 PS is the result of employing new side exhausts. The new car is obviously faster, so Ferrari has also fitted a a modified front splitter and a new rear diffuser for more downforce. Total downforce at 200 km/h is boosted to 330 kg when the flaps are open and 440 kg in the closed configuration.

Ferrari 599XX Evolution is the last of the 599 breed.
